Two back-to-back events with students and faculty members of the country’s leading design institutes marked the start of a wonderful collaboration with American Hardwoods Export Council (AHEC). These insiteKONNECT events happened in the historic city of Ahmedabad – at CEPT and NID, on the 9th and 10th of December 2024 respectively.

With a decision to promote American sustainable hardwoods in India, the American Hardwoods Export Council has first chosen to showcase its products amongst the Indian design fraternity. AHEC is the leading international trade association for the U.S. hardwood industry, which runs a worldwide programme to promote the full range of American hardwoods in over 50 export markets.

From Washington, DC and six overseas offices, strategically located near key hardwood markets, AHEC conducts programmes in more than 35 countries. Funded by the Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS) of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), AHEC has a mandate to broaden the outreach into international markets.

Given the vast spread of the Indian sub-continent AHEC chose to tie up with INSITE through our platform insiteKONNECT – targeting selected top architects, and also catching up with the younger lot – the students of furniture design, in Ahmedabad.
