Founder of the Chandigarh-based CAPT Consultants, Ar. Purnima Sharma hails from a family of doctors and is married into a family of illustrious architects. The dynamic lady set up her independent practice in 1998 and has since handled several projects from the residential, hospitality and healthcare sectors. The creative, talented, and multi-faceted lady wields her brushes and pens with flourish – in all areas of life. Read on, for an inspiring story of this architectural braveheart.

Ar. Purnima Sharma personifies the tag of “a strong independent woman”. After studying architecture in Lucknow where she met her now-husband Ar. Sangeet Sharma, the Agra girl moved to Chandigarh in 1988 and automatically stepped in as a junior architect into the practice of S.D. Sharma & Associates founded by her illustrious father-in-law. 

Years later, when the cocoon finally opened, Purnima metamorphosed into a strong and beautiful butterfly with the courage to fly solo. That is when she started CAPT Consultants (Creative Architects Planners Team) and branched off from the large tree.

It is so easy and so convenient, and so logistically practical to have an architectural setup ready to step into! Especially if one gets a big brand handed over to you on a platter, why wouldn’t you take it? And initially, Purnima too did the same. It was the most logical and natural way forward.
