The event began with the customary lighting of the lamp. Mr. Asutosh Shah, Managing Director of Duravit India; Mr. Kamal Khokhani, Managing Director of Akar Infomedia; Mr. Achyut Palav, the nationally renowned calligraphy artist and Duravit channel partners in Chandigarh - Mr.Rohit Sehgal of La Casa Decor; Mr.Rashim Khosla of Premier Agencies and Mr.Arun Garg of Aanya International were invited on the dais for lighting the lamp, to mark the beginning of this design conference with a novel approach.
Mr. Kamal Khokhani addressed the audience about the unique collaborative event and briefing the audience about Duravit’s commitment to worldclass design. He thanked Duravit for collaborating with his company for such an event, with a difference!
Mr. Asutosh Shah, MD of Duravit India Private Limited, who has taken a radical step by initiating an architect meet where there was no discussion of architecture, shared with the audience about the thought behind this event, where Duravit has collaborated with master calligrapher - Mr. Achyut Palav to give the designers a different type of event experience. He then spoke about his journey with the German multinational company and the brand’s position in India. He shared that Duravit is a 200+ year old brand from Germany, with a presence in 130 countries! He further added that Duravit is a company which is deeply concerned with some of the crucial and critical issues like water conservation, eco-friendly manufacturing process, energy efficiency, waste reduction and so on. While talking about the products, he shared with the audience that Duravit, in collaboration with some of the globally acclaimed designers like Philippe Starck, Sir Norman Foster, Antonio Citterio, Nigel Coates, Erick Johansen, Sebastian Herkner, Christian Wener etc, has been presenting an exquisite range of sanitary ware, and bathroom furniture, which makes its product, stand apart from the rest!
