Founder & Creative Director of KKD Studio, Krish Kothari, with a Bachelor's degree in Science and Business Administration went on to get a Diploma in Design and Visual Communications from UWC Singapore. His flair for interior design eventually led to the establishment of KKD Studio in 2016. The Mumbai-based ultra-luxury design-build studio is dedicated to creating bespoke residential spaces. Featured here is a 4500 sq ft apartment in a plush Mumbai locality that radiates warmth, sophistication, and elegance.

A home for three generations of a family living together must address the diverse needs and dynamics of each age group individually and yet seamlessly meld into a cohesive unit, which is both functionally sound and aesthetically appealing to each member. The client's brief was quite simple though – all they needed was a warm and functional space. But the design challenge lay in housing three generations under the same roof, whilst creating distinct spaces for the grandparents, parents, and children, and ensuring a delicate balance between private and shared areas.

The primary decision was to modulate the house layout to suit the specific needs of the family, and enable a cosy personal space for each individual. This design approach significantly enhances the project's uniqueness. Krish Kothari, CEO & Creative Director at KKD Studio, believes in making a concerted effort to understand the clients’ needs and personalities, including hobbies, interests, colour preferences, travel experiences, and overall lifestyle.
