One of the most famous and ancient holy shrines in Gujarat, the Shamlaji Vishnu Mandir at Shamlaji, in the Aravalli district is a temple dedicated to Gadhadhar Shamlaji avatar of Lord Vishnu. Built in the 15th century with inspirations from the 11th century Chaulukya architecture style, the Shamlaji Temple of Gujarat is located on the banks of Meshvo river in Aravalli. Steeped in history and spirituality, the Shamlaji Temple hosts several traces of early temple building from ancient India – with expansions and renovations adding to the temple campus over the centuries.
The significant placement of the temple in the history, geography, and heritage of Gujarat influenced the Gujarat Pavitra Yatradham Vikas Board – the pilgrimage governing body of the state – to promote spiritual tourism with a permanent laser sound and light show in the form of 3D mapping on the temple’s exterior surfaces. A project led by Narendra Naidu of Rhino Engineers, the Shamlaji Temple laser and sound show commission involved a turnkey process of supply, installation, operation, and five-year maintenance of this focal system – brought forth through dedicated teamwork along with artful experience and mastery.
