Studio Design Atelier was set up by Ar. Neha Mody – a graduate of the M. S. University of Baroda. In 1999, Neha with her husband Prashant, a structural engineer, founded the practice, and has since handled projects diverse in scale and typology – ranging from small family homes to large institutions, industrial developments, retail and workspaces. Till now, the studio has successfully executed over 20 million sq ft of built space! In this issue celebrating women, we feature Studio Design Atelier’s latest institutional project in Ahmedabad.

Neha Mody, an architect and an academician, has been practising in the field of architecture and planning for the past 30 years. After completing her bachelors from the M S University of Baroda, she gained practical experience working with celebrated architects such as BV Doshi, Kulbhushan Jain, and Leo Perriera. Naturally then, she has imbibed these learnings and carried them forward into her own design thinking.

“Our work is informed by an approach to making spaces relevant to its context and people. Systems of usage, and human interaction shape the spaces we design, making them more efficient and comfortable for its users,” says Ar. Neha Mody. “We believe that a ‘good’ project is beyond aesthetics, it is an effective balance of design, planning and execution. We like to address each of these with finer details, and make the process smooth for clients, with our turnkey services.”
