The BFT X HCPID Shunya Taal Collection celebrates a fusion of traditional Indian artistry and contemporary design, exemplifying a timeless aesthetic. “Each tile reflects the boundless potential of Shunya and the rhythmic grace of the tabla, uniting tradition with innovation,” shared Canna Patel, well-known architect helming the Ahmedabad-based studio HCPID; who collaborated on the collection.

Inspired by Shunya (the void) and Taal (the rhythmic cadence epitomized by the tabla, this collection is a tribute to India’s cultural essence. The designs merge simplicity with intricacy transforming spaces into artistic statements. The Shunya Taal Collection features rhythmic patterns in a thoughtfully curated palette of warm, cool, and neutral tones. Being easily customizable, it fits seamlessly into diverse styles such as minimalist and modern to opulent and heritage-inspired designs.

The launch event of the Shunya Taal Collection in Mumbai came with a panel discussion featuring important members of the design fraternity such as Canna Patel, Kanika Agarwal Mahadevwala, and Aratrik Dev Varman, along with Firdaus Variava. The discussion centred around the evolution of Indian design and the inspiration behind the latest collection. The Shunya Taal Collection exemplifies the century-old ethos of BFT; offering a blend of history, culture, functionality, and timelessness.
