The brain behind some of the most prestigious, offbeat and iconic interior spaces, Shabnam Gupta started her design journey very early. Today a widely reckoned name in Indian design, and an award-winning interior designer, Shabnam started out small with big dreams in tow.
Armed with a diploma in Interior Design from the L.S. Raheja School of Architecture, Shabnam graduated in 1994, and started learning the tricks of the trade whilst working at a reputed Mumbai-based architectural practice.
In the past two decades, since starting her own design studio The Orange Lane in 2003, Shabnam has built an incredible body of work that includes interior design, styling, and decor for celebrity homes and restaurant chains. Her refreshingly original design ideas help create timeless stories. “I find peace in the unconventional and a method to the madness of passionate design. My muse is Mother Nature herself,” informs the talented designer.
By combining traditional symbolism with elements from a modern aesthetic, Shabnam’s work shows a rare panache for a rustic yet contemporary design.
