While most décor trends indicate a leaning towards minimalism, in recent times there has been a noticeable trend of over-the-top maximalist décor in some high-end homes across the country.

Intricate furniture draped in quirky, abstract upholstery, clashing colours on pristine patterns, classical motifs on cushions splashed over geometrical lines on curtains – basically everything that seems improbable as an aesthetically pleasing combination – is assembled together in a way that it somehow “works”.

Flamboyance with flair, vibrancy with verity, extravagance with elan, pomposity with panache, kitsch with class – and hell yeah, the décors look good!
Another interesting aspect is that the trend is seen all over the country, and all types of homes, big and small. Maximalism prevails imperiously in a large apartment in a small town, in a medium sized apartment in a metropolis, as well as a luxurious bungalow in a tier two city!
