Kapil Surlakar is the founder of LIGHT@WORK Design Consultants Pvt Ltd, a design-focused firm that has redefined the approach to architectural and urban lighting solutions. With a commitment to ethical design excellence, his work demonstrates the powerful interplay between light and architecture, creating environments that are both functional and aesthetically compelling. In conversation with INSITE, Mr. Surlakar discusses his philosophy of making light work as an imperative visual medium, while balancing economic and ergonomic considerations in every project.

Adam Markowitz, a Melbourne-based architect and furniture designer, established markowitzdesign – an interdisciplinary design studio in 2014. With a background in architecture, Markowitz has studied design & craft in Melbourne (The University of Melbourne), Hobart (The University of Tasmania), The Netherlands (TU Delft), Denmark (The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts) and the Center for Furniture Craftsmanship, Maine USA. The studio’s work – reflecting the intersection of modern digital processes and traditional methods of craftsmanship - is marked by a sustainable, non-disposable approach to design; intending that the designed products should last generations, and not end up polluting the planet. Markowitz has taught Architecture and Design at the Melbourne School of Architecture, and Design at the Center for Furniture Craftsmanship, Maine USA.

Graduating from the Rizvi College of Architecture in 2002, Behzad Kharas started his independent journey in 2005 – with his own firm ThinkBNK. Over time, the firm metamorphosed, got rebranded and is now known to everyone as The BNK Group. Since its inception the firm has been handling varied projects in the residential, workspace, health care and hospitality sectors. Today the firm boasts of a project portfolio with over 500 projects.
